Humberto Brito is a writer, photographer, and professor at Universidade Nova de Lisboa. In 2023/24 he will be at New York University, NYU, as visiting professor. He held visiting appointments at Stanford University, University of Chicago and Universidade de Lisboa, where he obtained his PhD. He studied Photography at Atelier de Lisboa. He is the author of five books: Avaria (self-published, 2019), Estrada e Fantasmas (Lebop, 2020), Regras de Isolamento (with Djaimilia Pereira de Almeida, FFMS, 2020), A Interrupção dos Sonhos (Relógio d’Água, 2021), and A Luz e a Escrita (Relógio d’Água, 2023). He is a contributor to Brazilian literary review Quatro Cinco Um.
