What is FITA?

> FITA stands for Friends In The Arts. We are a non profit cultural institution that connects people in the art world, offering a range of services and resources to help artists, cultural organizations, and other professionals achieve their goals. FITA provides a job board for careers in the arts, a talent agency, a magazine showcasing art and culture from around the world, and a community for networking and collaboration. What is the talent agency?

> Our talent agency is a service we offer to connect artists with potential clients, such as galleries, museums, and collectors. Our agency represents a wide range of artists from various disciplines, including digital art, painting, sculpture, photography, video, performance, music, and more. We work closely with our artists to understand their unique strengths and skillsets and then market them to potential clients who are seeking their specific talents. Our goal is to help artists find new opportunities and achieve success in the art world. Can you help me find a job?

> Yes, FITA offers a job board to help you in your job search. Head to Patreon, select your membership tier, become a member, receive the password to open FITA Platform job board and access a selected job and opportunity catalogue updated every single day.

How can I access FITA Platform?

> You can access FITA Platform with a password. The password will be available for the whole month on Patreon‘s board. Every month we will change this password. You will receive it again to enter the job board.

Why should I access FITA Platform?

> Enter FITA Platform to discover an infinite number of job/opportunities posted daily. Your job board access includes receiving special news every week, learn the best skills to land your dream job and get featured in the next FITA Magazine. We work through partnerships with organizations to source the best professionals in the arts field. You can subscribe and unsubscribe whenever you want through Patreon.

How do I apply for a position?

> Visit our FITA Platform page to view our current open positions. Review all the requirements. If your skills/experience meet the described skills/experience for the position, apply through the organization’s website. We don’t take responsibility for any application. If no position meets your current interest, you can submit your CV/Resumé to us at info@friendsinthearts.net for future consideration.

I saw multiple positions on the job board, should I apply for all?

> Yes. Each position has a dedicated recruiter belonging to a specific organization. When you apply to a position on the organization’s website, the recruiter is notified of your interest and will follow up with you in the event your skills match the requirements of the position.

What should I do if I haven’t heard back from an application?

> Review FITA Platform job board for other positions and opportunities. Directly apply to any other positions that match your background and career aspirations. Make sure your LinkedIn profile is updated. Today, organizations rely heavily on LinkedIn to find talented professionals like you.

Can I ask FITA for career advice?

> Of course. Friends are here for you. E-mail us at info@friendsinthearts.net with the subject “Career Advice”, attach your most updated CV/resumé and cover letter and we start from there. FITA works with top career professionals to help you every step of the way.

How should I prepare for an interview?

> Review the job description, go online and thoroughly research the organization, learn about their team, goals, and culture. Dress up and plan your journey to the interview ahead of time. Prepare questions you’ll be asked and ask questions you still don’t know the answer to. After the interview, always follow up with the recruiter: send a well-curated e-mail and thank them for their time.

How can I determine a fair pay for my skills?

> Often employers will use your salary history to guide an appropriate offer for your next position. It is common to receive a moderate increase on your current total compensation. Review independent resources for compensation information online, such as PayScale, Glassdoor, SalaryExpert, Salary.com, Indeed, Paylab, LinkedIn Salary, Totaljobs and the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS).

How can I post a job/opportunity in the job board?

> You can post by filling this special form. We review your submission to make sure it aligns with our values. After filling out all the fields, submit the ad and you will be sent your payment information. Make sure your email contact is correct. The ad will be published on FITA Platform within 48 hours after we receive your payment. If you choose the Avant-Garde or State-Of-The-Art package, your ad will be featured on our social media channels as well. All FITA Platform and Social Media Posts will be created based on the information provided and cannot be amended. If you have any questions, please email info@friendsinthearts.net.

How long does a job ad last for?

> Your job ad lasts on FITA Platform until the deadline. If your job deadline is on March 11, 2023, then that’s your job ad expiration date.

Why should I post a job/opportunity in the job board?

> FITA Platform is the leading career platform for friends in the art world. Share opportunities with our +14,500 community and get access to our incredible talent. +200 Friends got a job through FITA / 6 per month, on average, in cultural organizations as the Peggy Guggenheim Collection, Venice Art Factory, Centro Cultural de Belém, MAAT Museum of Art, Architecture and Technology, Frith Street Gallery, Christie’s, and Sotheby’s, to name a few.

What should I pay for a job ad?

> There are three packages to post your job ad: Contempo, Avant-Garde and State-Of-The-Art. Rates start from 40,00€. Select your package here and cancel anytime.

Contempo costs 40,00€ (incl. VAT) to post 1 job on our FITA Platform job board and access +10,000 friends. Might be considered for our social media roundups.

Avant-Garde costs 120,00€ (incl. VAT) to post 1 job on our FITA Platform job board and access +10,000 friends. Receive a dedicated feature on Instagram.

State-Of-The-Art costs 250,00€ (incl. VAT) to post 3 jobs on our FITA Platform job board and access +10,000 friends. Receive a dedicated post on all our social media to expand the reach.

How can I use FITA to search for talent?

> We share some insights to help you find the best candidate. Job seekers are looking for flexibility and freedom, be open about the team, culture, company, and opportunities for progression. Hybrid working is the most preferred: a balance between the office and home work. Salary transparency is key. We don't advertise jobs without disclosed salaries. We recommend you focus on five maximum essential skills for the ideal candidate, especially when it comes to entry-level jobs. It will help bring more candidates to the table and get better cover letters.

I am a non-profit organization, can I have free job posts?

> Yes, you can! That’s the beauty of paying-it-forward. We offer 1 job post per month to all non-profit organizations. You just need to send an email to info@friendsinthearts.net with the subject “Non-profit organization ad” and we’ll send you our special form to be completed. Afterwards, your job/opportunity ad is posted and can appear on social media too.

What is the FITA Magazine?

> The FITA Magazine is an international art magazine that showcases artistic research from all disciplines, including visual arts, music, film, dance, and theater. It connects people around the world and promotes diversity, sustainability, and innovation in the art world. The magazine is published in various volumes, each with a different theme, and features exclusive interviews, articles, and artwork from some of the art world's top professionals.

Where can I find the magazine for sale?

> The FITA Magazine is available for purchase through the FITA Magazine website page or through select bookstores and retailers, namely: Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, Hangar Design Store at Centro Cultural de Belém, Livrarias Snob, Livraria Ferin Chiado, Livraria Ler Devagar Lx Factory, Livraria Treze, Universidade Nova de Lisboa, Livraria Flâneur Porto, and more. You can also purchase a subscription on Patreon to receive each new volume as it is released.

How can I publish my article/poem/essay/artwork/artistic research in the next magazine issue?

> To submit your work for consideration in the FITA Magazine, you must be a member on Patreon. Visit our Patreon page and follow the instructions there. The submission process may vary depending on the volume and theme of the upcoming issue, so be sure to read the guidelines carefully before submitting your work.

How can I advertise at FITA Magazine?

> To advertise in the FITA Magazine, you can contact the FITA team through the email magazine@friendsinthearts.net and inquire about advertising opportunities. The team will be able to provide you with more information about rates, sizes, and deadlines for advertising in the magazine.

What is the collection?

> The FITA Collection is a curated collection of artwork donated to FITA by artists and collectors from around the world. The collection is a celebration of diverse styles and mediums, and is used to promote the value and importance of art in society. FITA carefully selects and curates each piece of artwork, and works to ensure that the collection is accessible to as many people as possible through exhibitions, publications, and other public programs.

How can I donate my artworks to FITA?

> If you are an artist or collector and would like to donate your artwork to FITA, you can send us an email at info@friendsinthearts.net with the subject: Donation. FITA accepts donations of all styles and mediums, and works to ensure that each donated piece is handled with care and respect.
